About

Former lifestyle editor at Cosmopolitan magazine, Kristy Alpert is a freelance travel writer with bylines in Esquire, Travel + Leisure, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Food & Wine, AFAR, Global Traveler, Fodor’s Travel, and more. She has visited all seven continents—paid rent on four—and takes far too much pride in her spice cabinet, which includes juniper berries from Norway, cardamom from Nepal, and a prized ras el hanout from Morocco. She grew up on an airplane, as the daughter of an airline pilot, and is now married to an Air Force pilot. She is a certified technical writer and SEO specialist, and is also an E-RYT200 certified yoga instructor, earning her certification in Bali with Yandara Yoga Institute with continuing education courses in Rishikesh, Ko Yao Noi, and Carmel. Kristy has won numerous international awards for her writing, and has consulted for national publications on travel strategy.
